Nicholas “Nick” Ryan Dillon, 34, of Wilmington, died unexpectedly in his home on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016.

Nick loved hunting, competition and recreational shooting, and volunteering at his son’s school.

He is survived by his wife, Adrienne Anderson Dillon; son, Walker Phoenix Dillon; parents, Toi and Brian Pettus; brothers, Adam, Baron, Cade, Sam and Jonah; sisters, Marissa, Erika and Amberly; grandparents, Obbie and Mary Blanton and Eugene and Loretta Pettus; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his beloved Great Danes, Hank, Barrett, and C.J. He is preceded in death by his brother, Shawn, aunt, Susan Johnson and Larry Dillon.

A memorial service to celebrate Nick’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at Northside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Morley officiating. Prior to the service at the church, the immediate family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions, in Nick’s memory, be made into a trust fund for Walker’s education at any First Citizens Bank in the Wilmington area.
