Mary “Peggy” McLamb Harrelson, 86, of Wilmington went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016.
She was born Dec. 5, 1929 in Johnston County to the late Luther B. and Anelia Hargrove McLamb. She was preceded in death by her first husband Willie D. Mills, her second husband Pete Harrelson, three sisters and three brothers.
Peggy enjoyed working as a dietician at Cape Fear Hospital. She also enjoyed working in her yard and listening to gospel music. She was a member Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoyed when members would come visit when she could no longer attend. Peggy also enjoyed watching her great-grandbabies.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ottaway and husband Bill; two granddaughters Kelby and Shelby and their spouses Nelson and Mike; three great-grandchildren Tyler, Hannah and Landon; one brother Larry McLamb and his wife Gail; one sister Myrtle McGee; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of the service.
The family would like to thank the nurses on the seventh floor at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, as well as the staff at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center for the love and compassion that was given to them during this difficult time.
