Kadance Caroll West was born April 14, 2015, to parents Adam West and Joni Byrd.

Kadance was born with a congenital heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot. Chapel Hill Children’s Hospital became home and family to this feisty, starry-eyed beauty. Kadance loved elephants and Johnny Cash music.

Though Kadance’s heart beat to a different rhythm than the rest of the world, she never stopped smiling and giggling. Kadance received her wings to be with the other angels on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015.

Kadance leaves behind two siblings, Zoe Lyford and E. Tyler West. Also, many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends she made along the way. Kadance was the epiphany of strength, love and goodness.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Drive in Wilmington.

Please leave online condolences for the family at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service.
