Kaye Francis Jenkins, enjoyed painting and stamp collecting

Kaye Francis Jenkins passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Kaye was born and raised in Asheville before leaving for college in Tennessee. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and lived in Knoxville before moving to Wilmington, where she worked for New Hanover Regional Medical Center until retiring. After her retirement, she served as the administrator of Americare for several years.

Her hobbies were painting, working in her yard and stamp collecting. She was interested in computers
from their introduction and enjoyed learning about computers as the industry developed.

Kaye is survived by her mother, Wanda Jenkins; sister, Teri Cartrette; niece and nephew Andrea Rhodes (Christopher Rhodes) and William (Jimmy) Cartrette; great-nephew Briley and great-niece Charlotte; as well as two uncles, Bill Jenkins and Ralph W. Smith (Alene), in addition to several cousins, including Kathy Flint (Randy Flint) who was considered a best friend and spent many hours laughing and talking together with Kaye.

She was preceded in death by her father, Morris Jenkins, and her brother-in-law, Ronald Glynn Cartrette.

No services will be held.
