Teen injured in daytime drive-by shooting on Rutledge Drive

Wilmington police are searching for two men wanted after a drive-by shooting Sunday afternoon that injured a teen.

The shooting happened in the 400 block of Rutledge Drive at about 3 p.m. Sunday, according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Linda Rawley. Witnesses reported the victim was walking on Rutledge Drive when a dark blue Saturn drove by.

A passenger in the vehicle fired multiple shots out of the window, Rawley said. A 19-year-old was shot in the left foot while running away from the gunfire. The injury was not considered life-threatening.

One suspect was described as a Hispanic or light-skinned male, Rawley said. Police did not provide a description of the second suspect at the time of this report.
