Just as Kadeem Allen started to build a little steam for nationally ranked Arizona, the junior point guard from Wilmington rolled his ankle during Wednesday’s 85-62 victory over Fresno State and could miss significant time because of the injury.
The 6-foot, 3-inch Allen was 4 of 6 from the field and tied a season-high with 13 points and five assists before leaving late in the second half on a non-contact play.
Coach Sean Miller confirmed the injury after the game as a sprain, but gave no time table for his return.
After sitting out last season following his transfer from Hutchinson Community College, the former New Hanover High School standout took over as a starter for Miller heading into this year, averaging 7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists through nine games.
The Wildcats are ranked No. 13 in the nation this week and off to an 8-1 start heading into a weekend match up against Missouri.
