Janice Lewis Horvath, 68, ‘true Southern girl’

Janice Lewis Horvath, 68, of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015.

Janice was a true Southern girl from the “Mill Hill” in Wilmington. She was born on Oct. 22, 1947 to Ophelia and Henry Lewis.

Janice was retired from Corning in Wilmington. She loved fishing and traveling in her leisure time. She was loved by her family and will be missed very much. Janice loved her grandchildren and always told each of them that they were number one.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Chris Lewis and Dolan Lewis.

Janice is survived by her husband of 25 years, Bill Horvath; daughters, Tammy Milliken (Kevin) and B.J. Horvath; son, Chris Ramsey (Julie); sisters, Iris Robertson and Sherrell Howard; brother, Leslie Ganey (Joyce); grandchildren, Chris Ramsey, Jr., Crystal Taylor (Justin), Amber (CowGirl) Ramsey, Karlie Milliken and Haylee Milliken; great-grandchildren, Trinity and Brantley Taylor; sister-in-law Lula Lewis; many nieces and nephews and cousins; and her special Scottie, Buddy.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
