Tina Ann Hewlett passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Hospice CareCenter surrounded by her friends and family members. She was 46.

She was born in Wilmington, NC on November 22, 1969. Tina graduated from New Hanover High School and Chowan College. She was preschool teacher in the Wilmington area for over 30 years and was a nanny to many children. She was a member of Masonboro Baptist Church.

“Tina Bug” is survived by her six nieces and nephews, Michael Hewlett, Elizabeth Hewlett, Julius Hewlett, Lakeesah Hewlett, Victoria Rangel, and Erika Irving, whom she loved dearly and helped raise them and treated them as her own children; as well as 11 great nieces and nephews; and her many friends. Remembered are her parents, David Eugene Hewlett and Linda Kay Wells Hewlett; and her sisters, Kelly Hewlett and Shelly Hewlett.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2015 at Masonboro Baptist Church, to be officiated by Rev. Gordon Wright.
