A man was injured in a shooting Friday morning on Martin Street.
Multiple shots were fired in the 1000 block of Martin Street at about 10:30 a.m., according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay.
The victim went to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his leg, Lindsay said. The injury is not considered life-threatening.
Lindsay said the investigation is ongoing.
Man charged in armed robbery at Target store
Wilmington police have arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery behind a Target store.
Samir W. Thomas, 23, was charged Tuesday with robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to Lindsay. Thomas was originally arrested on Oct. 29 for a fugitive warrant out of New Jersey.
On Tuesday, police charged him in an incident that occurred behind Target, 4711 New Centre Drive, at about 7:30 a.m., Sept. 24, Lindsay said.
Thomas faces several charges in New Hanover County District Court including robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, possessing, buying or selling a gun with an alternate serial number and possession of stolen goods or property.
He has pending charges of two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of second-degree kidnapping and two counts of felony larceny in Duplin County District Court. He was also served with the fugitive warrant.
Thomas was booked at the New Hanover County Jail without bond.

Detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a woman charged with promoting the prostitution of a 17-year-old girl.
Kasi Lynn Smith, 25, was arrested on Friday and charged with two counts of promoting prostitution of a minor, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer.
Smith was arrested at the Budgetel Inn, 4903 Market St. in Wilmington at about 1:55 p.m. Tuesday, Brewer said. The incident allegedly occurred at the Super 8 Motel at 3604 Market St. in Wilmington last week.
Brewer said the sheriff’s office was contacted by investigators with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office about the case. The woman had allegedly put photos of the 17-year-old girl on an online advertising site for the purposes of prostitution, Brewer said.
Smith was booked at the New Hanover County Jail under a $250,000 secured bond.
Deputies charge suspect in September robbery
A Wilmington man who was previously charged with multiple armed robberies by Wilmington police, now faces additional felony charges filed by the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
Quinton Jamir Hall, 28, has been charged with an armed robbery at the Dollar General store at 2523 Castle Hayne Road just after 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, according to Brewer.
The suspect entered the Dollar General store, approached the counter with a handgun and demanded cash. With cash in hand, the suspect drove away from the area in a 90s model black Nissan car.
“We knew he was a suspect once the city arrested him,” Brewer said. New Hanover County detectives were able to work the case while he was jailed and later filed charges in the robbery.
Hall was originally arrested by U.S. Marshals on Oct. 1, according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Linda Rawley. Wilmington detectives charged Hall with several armed robberies including a robbery at Han-Dee Hugo in the 4100 block of Oleander Drive on Sept. 17; Han-Dee Hugo at 425 N. College Road on Sept. 19; and the Scotchman in the 900 block of Third Street on Sept 22.
Hall has been charged with a total of six counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of second-degree kidnapping, five counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and has been served with two fugitive warrants. He is being held at the New Hanover County Jail without bond.
