Edward “Ed” W. Jacobsen, beloved husband to Carole, father to Donna and Rob Jacobsen and grandfather to Olivia and Miranda Jacobsen, died at the age of 80 on Nov. 5, 2015, surrounded by his family at his home in Wilmington.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond.

Ed was born in Pittsburgh to Carl and Signe (Herrmans) Jacobsen and lived in Hampton Bays, New York where he and Carole (Lach) married in 1956. Ed served in the U.S. Navy and was a program manager for Grumman Aerospace.

He and Carole retired to Wilmington, where he continued his passions for woodturning, boating and hosting friends and family in their home. Eddie Jake is remembered as a generous man, always willing to share his love, time and ability to fix anything mechanical. We will all miss him dearly.

Please leave online condolences for the family at Andrews Mortuary.
