Looking for somewhere to take the kids on their day off from school? The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher will be offering free admission to all guests on Veterans Day.

The Nov. 11 holiday is one of two days each year (the other being Martin Luther King, Jr. Day) that the aquarium does not charge admission fees. They will instead be accepting donations of non-perishable food items such as canned goods, peanut butter and infant formula. The food drive will benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

While general admission is free, children ages 5 to 12 have the opportunity to participate in AquaCamp from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day. The program includes games, crafts and live animal presentations. Snacks will be provided, but campers must bring their own lunch. The cost is $40 per child, and preregistration is required due to the limited amount of space.

More information on the free day can be found here on their website.
