Richard Carl Engelhardt, of Calabash, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was 80.

Mr. Engelhardt was born on March 9, 1935, in Yeadon, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Carl Fredrick and Louise Anna Edelmann Engelhardt.

He retired as vice president of the Pecora Corporation in Harleysville, Pennsylvania. He was a past member of The Mixer’s Club of Philadelphia, The Manufacturers’ Country Club and commodore of The Greater Wildwood Yacht Club.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Susan Lange Engelhardt, of Calabash; two sons, Richard Engelhardt Jr., of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania and Robert “Bob” Engelhardt and wife, Sally Ann, of Bucktown, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Deborah Alleva, of Yardley, Pennsylvania and Karen McClung and husband, Matthew, of Hatboro, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Interment will be held at a later date.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the America Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216, in his memory.
