Adam Chando Toht, 33, remembered as polite, respectful, loving and caring

Adam Chando Toht, of Leland, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, at his home. He was 33.

He was born in Woodstock, Virginia on Aug. 31, 1982, to Karen and Michael Toht.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his fiancé, Melissa Morman, of Leland; precious daughter, Zoey Nicole Toht; brothers, Matthew Toht and wife Desiree, of Pennsylvania and Michael Andrew Toht, of New Jersey; aunts and uncle, Elizabeth Dickens and Barbara and Richard DeVictor; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elizabeth and Leon Chando and Mary and Michael Toht.

Adam spent his childhood in Monroe Township, New Jersey. He was a graduate of Monroe Township High School and Ramapo University. His favorite job was working with children. In 2007, he moved to North Carolina to be near his family. He renewed his friendship with Melissa. They have a beautiful three-year-old daughter, Zoey, whom Adam adored.

Adam will be remembered by his family, friends and all who knew him as a polite, respectful, loving and caring person. He will be deeply missed by all.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at Maliszewski Funeral Home on Whitehead Avenue, South River, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, contributions for the benefit of Zoey Nicole Toht may be made to Michael A. Toht, Trustee, P.O. Box 326, Leland, NC 28451 or the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
