Ernest Herbert Dix Jr., of Bolivia, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at the age of 72.

He was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, on Dec. 20, 1942, the son of Ernest and Georgiana Andre Dix. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Joyce Dix.

He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and a professional driver. He moved to Palmetto Creek four years ago from New Jersey where he had been a member of the American Legion Post #249, Lake Hiawatha.

Surviving are his wife, Joanne Kranich Dix; daughter, Judith “Judy” Peters, of Hackettstown, New Jersey; son, Ernest “Ernie” Dix III, of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey; brother, Herbert Dix and his wife Mary Ellen Burke, of Yonkers, New York; and grandchildren, Kristina, Christian, Nicholas, Tyler and Benjamin.

A memorial service was held Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Brunswick Funeral Service, Southport/Oak Island Chapel by the Rev. Lynn Yeso.
