A portion of Ringo Drive is closed to traffic as city crews work to make road repairs after a sinkhole formed in the area nearly two weeks ago.

The part of the street between Hunters Trail and Lennon Drive will remain fully closed at least until the end of the week. The closure will not affect commercial properties, residences or public transportation, but motorists, who often use the road as a through street, are advised to avoid the area.

Ringo Street is a private road that is not maintained by the city, the city reported last week. City officials said the failure of stormwater pipes in the area are most likely the cause of the sinkhole.
