George W. Harrington, of Wilmington, died unexpectedly on Oct. 24, 2015, at home. He was 69.

George was born on Nov. 24, 1945, son of the late Honorable George W. Harrington Sr. and Eleanor (Haberkern) Harrington.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, JoAnn (Gould) Harrington; daughter, Johanna Harrington, of Burlington; son, James (Yoshimi) Nomura; grandson, Kenshi, of Nara, Japan; as well as several cousins.

Calling hours will start at 10 a.m., with a Mass to follow at 11 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1011 Eastwood Road, Wilmington, NC 28403.

George graduated from West Virginia Institute of Technology with a degree in industrial management. As an industrial engineer, he worked for Fortune 500 companies such as Xerox and Carrier. For the last 35 years, he was owner of Windows of Wilmington. He also loved boating, fishing, the beach and spending time with his family and friends.

George will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
