Donald L. Hinnant died peacefully at home on Wednesday Oct. 21, 2015, at the age of 66.

He was born on Oct. 17, 1949, at James Walker Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Brown Hinnant and his three children, Kelly and his wife Missy, Christina and her husband Bradley and Mark; mother-in-law, June Brown Taylor; 16 grandchildren;six great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters and their spouses and children; as well as several nieces and nephews on Norma’s side.

Donald served 20 years in the U.S. Army and retired at the rank of sergeant first class. He enjoyed fishing either on a boat and fighting the waves on the beach. He loved his family and will be deeply missed by all.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Gibson Avenue Baptist Church, 2037 Wrightsville Ave., Wilmington, followed by services beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
