Leah G. Hines, of Wilmington, died Oct. 21, 2015, after a brief illness. She was 48.

She was born on May 27, 1967, in Phoenix, to Robert and Vonda Hines.

In addition to her parents, Leah is survived by her husband, Steven Maksymowski; brother, Vincent Hines; daughter, April Moore; granddaughter, Stella Nagle; as well as many other loving family and friends.

Leah’s beautiful charm and adventurous spirit led her to a career as a flight attendant with U.S. Airways. She married Steven, the love of her life, at the Elvis Presley Wedding Chapel and they had 19 years of happiness. Leah was passionate about her family and friends, her flowers, decorating her home, her fiesta dishes, her Barbie collection and her Teletubbies.

She loved the written word, specifically American literature and the authors who wrote about the human condition. She had a great command of the English language and spoke eloquently on any occasion.

A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
