Sarah Irene Alley, of Southport, died on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at her home. She was 83.

Mrs. Alley was born Sept. 20, 1932, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Flick. She loved her daughters, son-in-law and her dogs. Mrs. Alley lived all over the United States, was active in her churches and will be missed by her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and a die-hard University of Kansas Jayhawks basketball fan.

Mrs. Alley was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Gene Richard Alley; two brothers; and three sisters.

Surviving are her two daughters, Judy Tillman and husband Dan and Jeri Robinson, all of Southport and a brother, James Flick and wife Nina, of Oakley, Kansas.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at Ocean View United Methodist Church’s chapel, with Pastor Fred Roberts officiating. Burial in Oxford, Kansas will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Humane Society of the United States.
