Starting Monday, Oct. 19, there will be some closures for road work in Brunswick County and Carolina Beach.
In Southport, nighttime lane closures on NC 211 at the intersection of NC 87 to the ferry terminal are scheduled from Oct. 17 – Dec. 1. The N.C. Department of Transportation will be doing milling and resurfacing work from 7 p.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday through Friday every week except for Nov. 24 – Nov. 30, the week of Thanksgiving.
New pavement and traffic markings will be installed for safety during this time. One lane will remain open at all times during construction, and flaggers and portable message signs will help direct motorists.

In Carolina Beach, the portion of Canal Drive between Sand Dollar Lane and Periwinkle Lane will be closed from Oct. 17 – Oct. 31 while a lift station is being worked on. Residents will be allowed to access their homes, and traffic will be redirected around the closure.
