The Seahawks improved to 8-3-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the CAA with the win, while William & Mary dropped to 4-7-2 overall and 1-5-0 in the league, suffering its fourth consecutive loss.

Foster, who tallied his first goal of the season, took a corner kick by freshman midfielder Ben Fisher and scored on a 10-yard shot to give UNCW their second win in the last three games.

The Tribe broke a scoreless tie in the 61st minute when junior forward Reilly Maw took a crossing pass from senior forward Jackson Eskay and found the back of the net for his first score of the year.

UNCW tied the game at 1-1 with 17:13 remaining by virtue of an own goal after a cross by Fisher was deflected into the goal by a William & Mary defender. Junior goalkeeper Sean Melvins made two saves for the Seahawks, who were outshot by a 13-10 margin.
