Ruth Bland Canady, of Shallotte, died Oct. 14, 2015, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Whiteville. She was 75.

She was born in Brunswick County, daughter of the late Pete and Charity Long. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dailey Canady and children, Deborah Ann, Geraldine Nelson and Randy Harris Wilson.

Mrs. Canady was a member of Emmanuel Outreach Church in Ash.

Surviving are her daughter, Sheila Ann Helms, of Calabash; sons, Kenneth Lane Canady and Dailey Kendall Canady, both of Shallotte and Harry Eldridge Canady, of Calabash; sister, Alice Smith, of Ash; grandchildren, Wendy Gail Nelson, Rebekah Jordan Canady, Kelsey Layne Canady, Corbin Canady, Cori Canady and Chandler Canad; and great-grandchildren, Kayden Allen Gales, Ansley Canady and Zayden Canady.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at Emmanuel Outreach Church, conducted by Pastor Chuck Silvey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Emmanuel Outreach Church, 2360 Russtown Road, Ash, NC
