Brunswick County Chamber collecting donations for flood victims

The Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce and the Shallotte River Swamp Park are partnering to collect items for victims of the recent floods.

Members of the community who would like to donate items to those who have suffered extensive damage to their properties and belongings can drop things off at the park, located at 5550 Watts Road in Ocean Isle Beach. Some of the most needed items include bedding, cleaning supplies, medical supplies, baby items and water. All donations must be new or like-new.

Those willing to volunteer their time can help sort the donated goods. Containers are also needed to place the items into, as well as trucks and drivers to help deliver them to the communities in need.

No monetary donations will be accepted at the Shallotte River Swamp Park drop-off site, but those wanting to do so can visit www.brunswickcountychamber.org. For a full list of needed items, as well as more information on the disaster relief recovery effort, call the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce at (910) 754-6644.
