Carolina Beach experiences wastewater spill is your source for free news and information in the Wilmington area.

The town of Carolina Beach has had a discharge of about 4,500 gallons of untreated wastewater over the last couple of days.

According to a news release, the spill occurred on Oct. 5 – 6 in the areas of Canal Drive, Carolina Beach Avenue North and Spartanburg Avenue. Most of the water went into Myrtle Grove Sound in the Cape Fear River Basin, but according to the town there is a possibility of some discharge into Carolina Beach Lake.
