The Wilmington International Airport is hosting its 2nd Annual Aviation Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10.

The event, which is free to the public, will feature aircraft displays that include warbirds as well as displays from the Wilmington Model Flying Club and the Sun Coast Car Cruisers Club. An area with bounce houses, face painting and more will be available for the kids, and food trucks will be offering local food for purchase.

In addition, the Jones Racing Company is sponsoring a 5K run to benefit Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast on one of the airport’s runways. Organizers say it will be the first time in history that runners are allowed on the 8,000-foot runway. There will also be a one-mile Fun Run, which will start at 8:30. The 5K will begin at 9 a.m. To register for the run and get more details, click here.
