With the Screaming Eagles back on the field for the second time in less than one week, Ashley struggled to move the football, but the defense played strong to keep the visitors from Wilmington in the game. Sloppy field conditions were a given considering the amount of rain the area has seen over the last two weeks, with precipitation falling during much of the contest.

Shaquan Graham put North Brunswick on the board with a 69-yard catch and run from Deberry in the opening frame. Jordan Howard ended an Ashley drive late in the first half with an interception just before the break as the Screaming Eagles moved towards midfield.

With North Brunswick in front, Deberry capped an eight-play drive on a short yardage run for the 14-0 advantage.

A late fumble recovery and touchdown return closed the deficit for Ashley late in the fourth quarter.

Coming off their second bye week of the season and with nearly two weeks to prepare for the game against Ashley, North Brunswick improved to 3-2 overall. The Scorpions open conference play at Croatan on Friday, October 9.

The Screaming Eagles dropped to 1-5 overall and will finally get a little time to rest and work out the soreness. After two games in the matter of five days, Ashley (0-1, 1-5) returns to league action at home against Topsail on Friday, October 9.
