Diane Hughes, 57, people person who worked at Walmart for 18 years

Diane Hughes, of Rocky Point, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. She was 57.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Catherine Watkins; brother, Jessie Watkins Jr.; and sister, Juanita Causey.

Diane is survived by her husband, Donnie Hughes, of the home; sons, David Ray Hughes and wife Cory and Christopher Lee Toney and wife Anne; grandson, Christopher Toney Jr.; sister, Brenda Adams and husband Jay; and special cousin, Helen Keiper.

Diane was employed by Walmart for 18 years, was a people person and went out of her way to help everyone. She loved reading and crafts and was a devoted military wife.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home followed by burial at Old Piney Grove Cemetery with Jay Adams officiating.

The family would like to give a special thank-you to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, especially Bruna Smith, for the love and care given to Diane.
