Lucy “Jackie” Irene Rocha, of Wilmington, died peacefully Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. She was 88.
Jackie was a devoted mother and grandmother who was very active in her church, especially with the Young at Heart Club, and was active with her friends at Lauren Place.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Len Rocha.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Rocha Sr. and wife Wendy, of Bakersville and Kenneth Rocha and wife Monica, of Castle Hayne; grandchildren, Robert Rocha Jr., of Wilmington, Erin Prosser, of Bakersville and Luke, Faith, Matthew and Rebekah Rocha, all of Castle Hayne; great-grandson, Dillion Rocha, of Wilmington; and also a special friend, Arnold Ray Potter, of Wilmington.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at Castle Hayne Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to express sincere thanks for all the prayers and concerned visitors who came during this time and a special thank-you to the doctors, nurses and staff at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Lower Cape Fear Hospice for all of the care and wonderful treatment both Jackie and her family received.
