Detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a Dollar General store in the Wrightsboro area.
The suspect entered the store at 2523 Castle Hayne Road just after 5 p.m. Sunday, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer. He approached the store counter, showed a handgun and demanded cash. The suspect – described as a black male – drove away from the area in a 90s model black Nissan car with money, Brewer said.

Masked man robs College Road convenience store
Wilmington police are investigating an armed robbery at gas station convenience store early Saturday morning.
A masked gunman entered Han-Dee Hugo, 425 N. College Road, and demanded cash from the register at about 12:35 a.m., according to police department spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay. The clerk reportedly handed the suspect cash and was ordered to lay on the floor as the suspect ran out of the store.
The suspect – described as a black man who wore a hooded sweatshirt and a red bandanna over his face – took cash and ran west away from the business.

Brunswick County teen wanted in armed robbery, stolen vehicle case
Leland police are searching for a teen wanted in connection with an armed robbery and stolen vehicle last week.
A man was robbed in the area of Basin Street on Wednesday, Sept. 16, according to Leland Police Department Lt. Jeremy Humphries. The suspect reportedly showed a handgun and robbed the victim of cash, a cell phone and car.
Warrants for arrest have been issued for 18-year-old Tykeam Amour McNeil, of Navassa, on charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping and larceny of a vehicle.
