Road work on Fort Fisher Boulevard postponed

The DOT will begin work on Fort Fisher Boulevard on Sept. 9. Photo by Hannah Leyva.The repaving work set to be done on Fort Fisher Boulevard has been postponed by the North Carolina Department of Transportation due to changes in the contractor’s job schedule.

The project, which was originally slated to begin Sept. 9 with a projected completion date of Nov. 21, has now been pushed back to October. No exact date has yet been set.

The road work will consist of repaving and resurfacing Fort Fisher Boulevard from E Avenue all the way south to the Fort Fisher Boat Ramp. One lane will remain open at all times during construction, and flaggers and portable message signs will direct traffic.
