Eunice Bass Kinlaw, of Elizabethtown, died peacefully on Sept. 17, 2015, at the age of 91.

Well known to the community, Eunice and her husband, Gordon B. Kinlaw Sr., owned and operated the former Kinlaw Funeral Home.

Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Sr., as well as her parents, Raymond and Sula Bass.

Mrs. Kinlaw was active in the community, serving on the foundation boards at Bladen Community College and Campbell University. She was a founding member of the local American Business Women’s Club and held several elective offices through the years.

Surviving are her daughters, Sherry K. McBeath, of Savannah, Georgia and Beverly S. Kinlaw, of Wilmington; son, Gordon B. Kinlaw Jr. and wife Ann, of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Bradley Kinlaw, Erin Kinlaw, Catherine Wray, Ricky and Kevin Picklesimer; great-grandchildren, Tianna, Landon, Amber, Max and Kira Picklesimer; brother, Hubert Bass and wife Nell; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service, officiated by the Revs. Warren Hill and Charles Hester, was held Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at Elizabethtown City Cemetery, followed by a visitation and reception at Elizabethtown Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
