L. Allan Wright, 83, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, in Wilmington.
Allan was born in Burlington, Vermont, on March 4, 1932, the son of G. Lawrence Wright and Vivian Shattuck Wright. He grew up in Underhill, Vermont, and graduated from Vermont Academy in 1950 and Middlebury College in 1955.
Allan worked in human resources operations for the computer, nuclear propulsion, aerospace and security industries. He worked for over 20 years for General Electric, as well as Payne-Lendman, Fairchild Industries, Huyck Corporation, Burns International and Honeywell Industries. He was retired from his consultant business, Allan Wright and Associates, for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara “Sandy” Wright; his brother Clark Wright and sister-in-law Isabelle Wright; his children, Mark Wright and Susan Wright Clutter; daughter-in-law Janet Wright and son-in-law William Clutter; his grandchildren Lisa Wright Trimmer, Kelly Wright LePain and James Clutter; and four great-grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed.
A wake will be held at Corbin-Palmer Funeral Home at 9 Pleasant St. in Essex Junction, Vermont, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19. A service will be held from 11 a.m. to noon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice, or to the Burnham Memorial Library in Colchester, Vermont.
