Francis “Frank” Hill King, 73, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015 at 3:15 a.m.

Our husband, father, brother and grandfather left his earthly body to be with Jesus. He fought the fight, finished the course and kept the faith. Truly, he was a fisher of men.

Everyone who knew him would agree that his mission in life was to make people smile and win lives for the Lord. When Frank was in a room, there was never a dull moment.

Frank’s passion was fishing and hunting, and he loved his garden. He was committed to his prison ministry and used every opportunity he had to spread the gospel. He touched many lives in his 73 years, and we will miss him every day of our lives, but we are rejoicing because we know he is now in the presence of the Lord.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Carter King; one daughter, Julia King Talton and husband Michael; one son, Jared Lee King; one brother, Kirby King, Jr.; four grandchildren, Kelsey, Morgan and David Talton and Katie Lynn King; nieces, Suzanne Jones and Kristy Ramsay; and special aunt and uncle, Bill and Katherine Godwin.

The memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Gateway Church, 4815 Wrightsville Ave., with the Rev. Jay Young officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service from 6 to 7 p.m. at the church.

Please leave online condolences for the family at Wilmington Funeral and Cremation.
