After stopping Hoggard on the opening possession of the game, Shrader completed a 60 yard touchdown pass to John Turley for the early 7-0 lead. The Knights tacked onto their advantage with 5:45 to go in the first quarter as Alex Park made a big reception downfield to set up a quarterback draw at the goal line by Shrader.

Shrader connected with Turley for his second score of the night on an 88-yard touchdown reception early in the second frame and the Knights defense came up with a big stop just before halftime to take a 20-0 edge into the break.

Caleb Kuhne put Hoggard on the board with a 40-yard field goal and the Vikings blocked punt turned into seven points to pull within 10 headed into the fourth quarter.

Hoggard threatened again after a Charlotte Christian turnover with 9:52 to play, but David Waldrop sealed the deal for the Knights with an interception to hand the Vikings its third loss of the season.

Hoggard fell to 1-3 overall and return to Scott Braswell Stadium for a date with the Clinton Darkhorses on Friday, September 18.
