Serving her Lord on a daily basis, Shirley was a longtime faithful member of Castle Hayne Advent Christian Church. Shirley loved her family and was a loving mother, “Nana,” sister and friend. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought much joy in Shirley’s life and in her later years, she cherished every minute spent with them.

God’s beautiful world and all of nature, especially butterflies and hummingbirds, were of great enjoyment to Shirley. Until her health began to fail Shirley also enjoyed gardening. Her love of family, steadfast faith and beautiful smile will always be remembered

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Castle Hayne Advent Christian Church, with a service beginning at 7 p.m. Pastor Randall Smith will officiate the service.
