Ronald C. Hathcock, of Wilmington, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at his home. He was 70.

He was born on Aug. 19, 1945, in Newport News, Virginia and raised in Albemarle.

Ron was retired from Lance, Inc. after 20 years of service. He was formerly a construction foreman and brick mason in Albemarle. He was a member of Wesleyan Chapel United Methodist Church in Scotts Hill. Ron and his wife were members of Ocean Drive Shag Club. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR and watching his grandchildren play baseball.

Ron is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joyce Story Hathcock; one daughter, Rhonda Studebaker and husband Nick; two grandchildren, Ross and Alan Studebaker; two brothers, Richard Hathcock and wife Trudy, and Jim Hathcock. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Lucille and a sister, Tamara Jo.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Wesleyan Chapel United Methodist Church. A visitation and reception will follow the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
