Patricia “Pat” Byrd Bradshaw died Sept. 5, 2015, at the age of 75.
She born on Sept. 29, 1939, in Sampson County.
Pat is survived by her husband of 58 years, the Rev. Elbert N. Bradshaw; daughter, Jan Prevatte and husband Terry, of Wendell; son, Michael Bradshaw and wife Amy, of Wilmington; daughter, Karen Greenwood and husband Barry, of Avon; and beautiful grandchildren, Beth Dowless, Michael Dowless Jr., Morgan Greenwood, Lane Greenwood, Madelyn Bradshaw and Alex Bradshaw.
Pat moved as a new bride in 1957 to Wilmington, where she was co-owner, along with her husband, of Bradshaw Auto Sales and Frontier Food-to-Go. Pat was a full-time homemaker in addition to putting in many hours at the family restaurant.
Pat loved music and played the piano for several churches throughout her and Elbert’s ministry, most recently serving at Bear Branch Baptist Church. She loved southern gospel music and cherished the six years she spent as pianist for the King’s Men Quartet. She will be remembered as a devoted Christian wife, mother and grandmother and a good friend.
The family will see friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at Long Leaf Baptist Church, 317 Shipyard Blvd., officiated by the Rev. Rick Armstrong and the Rev. Vic Potter. Burial will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Sellers, Mark Sutton, Jimmie O’Daniell, Jerry Todd Sr., Jerry Todd Jr. and Chuck Wilson.
