Margaret Elizabeth Goldbold McFayden, a resident of North Chase Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington, beloved wife and aunt, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015. Mrs. McFayden lived to be 102 years old.
She was born in Wilmington on Dec. 30, 1912, the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Olivia Lenora Hewett Godbold and was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Hamilton McFayden.
Leaving to cherish her memory is her brother-in-law, Horace L. Williams; nephews, Harold L. Williams and Annette, Thomas R. Williams and wife Gloria and Donald J. Williams and wife Tana; niece, Margaret A. Asbell and husband Mike; great-nephews, Brian L. Williams, Christopher S. Williams and wife Michelle and Wesley L. Green; great-nieces, Christy G. Kremin and husband James, Andrea W. Horne and husband Namen and Lori W. Smithey and husband David Jr.; and many great-great-nephews, great-great-nieces and friends.
Mrs. McFayden attended The Apostolic Tabernacle.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery on Mt. Misery Road in Leland. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. The Rev. L.E. Logue will be officiating.
She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
