William Leslie Zieska, of Wilmington, went to be with Lord and his beloved wife, Donna, on Aug. 28, 2015, at the age of 88.

Known to all as “Bill,” he was born in Minneapolis on April 11, 1927, son of the late William A. and Florence Zieska.

He loved his family and his church. He spent his life taking trips with his beloved family. He never missed a graduation or wedding for any of his grandchildren. Fishing and camping were among his many leisure activities. He also enjoyed building and woodworking. He adored watching sports and was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Twins.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Zieska, and two grandsons, Corey and Joshua Zieska.

He is survived by his two daughters, Deborah Buckingham and Jewels Langmade (Mike); two sons; grandchildren, Jenna Hass (Doyle), George Buckingham (Kristin), Matthew Buckingham (Nicole), Susan Griffen (Doug), Bill Zieska (Emily) and Jeryd Stezewski; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Carolina Beach, 409 N. Lake Park Blvd., Carolina Beach, NC 28428, with the Rev. Alicia Porterfield and Dr. Jimmy Brown officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Carolina Beach.
