Helen Valerie Bradley, of Wilmington, died Aug. 28, 2015, at the age of 82.
She was born in Monmouth County, New Jersey in 1933, daughter of the late Loretta Spiegelhauer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bayne Bradley Sr.
Valerie was always babysitting for one family member or another, but wouldn’t have it any other way. She loved spending time with her family and as a result she was able to touch the lives of numerous children. When she found the time she enjoyed bowling, NC Tarheels basketball, watching her “stories” — “Days of Our Lives” was one of her favorites — and she loved to go out to TGIFriday’s and Pizza Hut. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Bayne Bradley Jr., of Wilmington, Mike Bradley and wife Mary Ann, of Rocky Point, Steven Bradley Sr., of Wilmington, Glenn Bradley, of Raleigh and Lori Ann Bradley, of Wilmington; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at the funeral home with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, NC 28412.
