Crime notebook: Police investigate two armed robberies; three face meth charges

Wilmington police are investigating two armed robberies reported Thursday night.

A 58-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint in the 1600 block of Robin Hood Road just before 10 p.m., according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay. The suspects reportedly knocked the victim to the ground, stole her cell phone and ran from the area. The suspects were described as two black men between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 foot 9 inches tall. They wore dark clothing and had their faces covered. The woman was not injured.

A 49-year-old man and 42-year-old woman were robbed at gunpoint while at Nutrition in Motion, 1505 Medical Center Drive, just before 11 p.m. Thursday, according to Lindsay.  The man and woman were at the business to clean the facility after hours, when the man was approached by the suspect. The suspect reportedly took the man’s wallet and then forced him inside the business at gunpoint. Inside the business, the suspect reportedly took the woman’s purse. The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s. He wore a dark T-shirt, jean shorts and had his face covered.

Three people charged with manufacturing meth

Wilmington police arrested three people in connection with a mobile meth lab.

Scott Leroy Milton, 43, Christopher Loyd Holley, 42, and Meisha Marie Becker, 30, were arrested after a traffic stop at the Quality Inn hotel, 4926 Market St., at about 3:42 a.m. Tuesday, according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay.

The suspects were reportedly stopped in a white Ford Explorer. When officers searched the vehicle, they allegedly found a mobile meth lab, Lindsay said. Agents with the State Bureau of Investigation were called to the scene.

Milton was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver meth, possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to jail records.

Holley was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver meth, possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and no operator’s license.

Becker was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver meth, possession of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Milton, Holley and Becker were each booked at the New Hanover County jail under $25,000 secured bonds.
