A Wilmington man died in a wreck involving a tractor trailer Thursday morning.
David Christopher Satrazemis, 62, was killed when his 1999 Toyota struck a tractor trailer that crossed the southbound lane of U.S. 17 from Galloway Road just after 6 a.m., according to N.C. State Highway Patrol Trooper J.M. King.
The tractor trailer stalled in the median crossover and was still in the southbound lane of travel when the wreck occurred, King said.
Satrazemis died on impact, King said. A passenger in Satrazemis’ car was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
An investigation has been conducted and the driver of the commercial vehicle has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, King said.
