Wilmington Hammerheads Youth FC recently announced the addition of a goalkeeper specific program. The first of its kind in the Wilmington area, the Hammerheads Goalkeeper Academy is a new program set to begin in Fall 2015.
This program will utilize comprehensive and specialized training methodology to improve the overall quality of young goalkeepers who are eager to train hard and grow as individual players, according to a news release by Wilmington Hammerheads FC. The Hammerheads Goalkeeper Academy is open to specified age groups and not only Hammerheads Youth FC players.
Players will be trained weekly for league matches and tournaments as each goalkeeper will be pressed to improve technique, tactical awareness, presence, and distribution. The program is set for serious players who aspire to take their game to the next level.
