“We’re extremely proud of the academic accomplishments of Seahawk student-athletes last year,” said Drew Scales, UNCW’s Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Support Services. “The high number of recipients indicates the tremendous level of conscientiousness and discipline permeating throughout our student-athlete population. This recognition will reinforce a tone to the incoming freshmen of the optimal academic standards expected of UNCW student-athletes in years to come.”

The Seahawks compiled a cumulative 3.174 grade point average for the spring semester and collected numerous academic honors.

Forty-seven student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, including 20 in the fall and 27 during the spring semester. Seven students earned a perfect score in both terms.
