UNC-Wilmington will hold an active shooter drill on campus on Friday morning.
The drill–conducted by the University Police Department, Department of Campus Life, Environmental Health and Safety, the Counseling Center and the UNCW Bookstore–will take place between 8 a.m. and noon.
The Fisher Student Center will be closed to the public during this time and Campus Life employees will be directing traffic away from the building. There will be increased activity in the area and the presence of scenario participants and UNCW Police.
The university does not plan to activate the Seahawk Warning Siren System or distribute mass text messages, voice mails or emails during the exercise.
