Cape Fear Community College’s newly appointed president now has an extended contract.
During a meeting Thursday night, the college’s board of trustees unanimously approved a three-year contract for Dr. Amanda Lee. The contract runs from her initial hire date of June 26 through June 27, 2018.
Under her new contract, Lee will receive an annual salary of $220,000– $155,387 in state money and a local supplement of $64,613 approved by New Hanover County commissioners.
Lee, who was named interim president of CFCC in January following the sudden resignation of Dr. Ted Spring, was picked from among four finalists earlier this summer for the position.
She began her career with the college in 2003 as an instructor, before moving through the administrative ranks.
Prior to becoming interim campus leader, she served as vice president for instructional services, handling the planning and oversight of the college’s academic divisions.
