A Brunswick County man will serve more than four years in prison after pleading guilty to an assault on a woman in June 2014.
Alex Ohara King, 42, of Makatoka Road in Supply, recently pleaded guilty in Brunswick County Superior Court to charges of second-degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation, communicating threats and injury to personal property, according to a news release from District Attorney Jon David.
King reportedly assaulted the woman by grabbing her throat and dragging her down the dirt driveway of her Shallotte home on June 30, 2014. Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office arrested King on July 1, 2014.
The investigation of the case was led by Detective Seth Parmelee and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jacob Ward. Attorney Teresa Gibson represented King.
