Two people were injured in separate shootings reported in Wilmington over the weekend.

Nyasia Baskerville, 25, was arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a 27-year-old man in the 100 block of 11th Street at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Wilmington Police Department Cpl. Leslie Irving. The man was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Baskerville has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and discharging a firearm within city limits, Irving said. She was booked at the New Hanover County jail under a $25,000 secured bond.

On Saturday, a 30-year-old woman was shot in the 900 block of South 12th Street at about 2:13 a.m., Irving said. The woman was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment. Police did not know the extent of her injuries, but she was conscious at the scene, Irving said. Police have not indicated the shootings were related.
