Leo Rowe Hickey, of Calabash, died Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the age of 87.

Born in Hudson, New York, on Nov. 21, 1927, he was a son of the late Philip and Mildred Rowe Hickey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Philip and Hartwell Hickey.

Mr. Hickey was a life member of the VFW Post 7288 Calabash, W.H. Rogers Hose Company #2 and was past commander of the Hudson, New York VFW #1314.  He was a veteran of U.S. Army.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Beatrice Fenoff Hickey, of the home; sons, James Hickey (Kate), of Ocean Isle Beach, Daniel Hickey (Sandra), of Hudson, New York, Keith Hickey (Harriett), of Washington, and David Hickey, of Schenectady, New York; daughter, Debra Brash (Carl), of Hudson, New York; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, N. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 801 11th Ave. North, N. Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.
