NewBridge Bank recently delivered a check for more than $15,000 to Cape Fear Community College to help fund student scholarships raised in last month’s Fourth Annual NewBridge Bank Bridge to Bridge run and walk in downtown Wilmington.
“It’s exciting for Cape Fear Community College to partner with NewBridge Bank and to offer our community an activity that promotes healthy living, while at the same time providing a fun, competitive atmosphere,” said Robert McGee, Director of Athletics at CFCC. “Scholarships are so important to our students, and the money raised from this event will help many students achieve their dream of continuing their education.”
More than 330 runners participated in the race, which was June 11. The annual event has grown in participation in each of the four years since its inception, thanks to the efforts of race director, CFCC Men’s Soccer Coach Chris Libert.
“NewBridge Bank has enjoyed partnering with Cape Fear Community College on the Bridge to Bridge,” said Paul McCombie, Executive Vice President for New Bridge Bank. “We are thrilled with the turnout and support of many community members who enable this event to fund student scholarships. Part of NewBridge Bank’s vision is to support our communities and we are proud to have the opportunity to do so with this race.”
